ALERT – The singer Djamel Allam is no more

Algeria – The Algerian singer Amazigh expression, Djamel Allam, died today, Saturday, September 15, at the age of 71, announces the Minister of Culture Azzedine Mihoubi on Twitter.

The author of "Thella" died on Friday at the age of 71 in a hospital in Paris, France. He had been hospitalized for months in several hospitals, here in Algeria, then abroad, notably in France.

"I have just received sad news from the artist Safy Boutella, that the great Algerian artist, one of the masters of Kabyle song Djamel Allam (71 years) died after a long illness, in a Parisian hospital. The Minister of Culture writes on Twitter.

Algeria's ambassador to France, Abdelkader Mesdoua, confirms the death of an icon of the Algerian song. "I learned with great affliction the death of the great Algerian artist and icon of the Kabyle song Djamel Allam. My sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to his family and loved ones and to the artistic family, "he wrote.
