Algiers Airport: A passenger bound for Doha arrested with 110,000 euros

Algeria – Police and Customs arrested today, Friday, August 3 at Algiers International Airport Houari Boumediene, a passenger for attempted illicit transfer of 110,000 euros abroad, one learned from customs source

The passenger, who had hidden the 110,000 euros in his luggage, was going to board a Qatar Airways plane bound for Doha, our source said.

Several attempts to smuggle foreign currency abroad have been defeated in recent days. The most important seizure was made at the border post of Betita, Tebessa, where 2.2 million euros were found in a car.
