Algeria – The exploitation of public spaces by restaurants and cafeterias will be subject to a new set of specifications by August 5th.
In a statement posted on his Facebook page, the mayor of Algiers-center, Abdelhakim Bettache announces the entry into force on Sunday of these new specifications which obliges, among others, the operators of terraces to open until at 23:00 and work weekends.
In Algiers center, many restaurants and cafeterias operate public terraces. To continue to exploit them, these traders will have to submit to certain rules fixed by the authorities.
These traders are called upon to ensure the aesthetics of the place they operate: Tables aesthetically acceptable, servers in uniform decent, umbrellas of the same color and without advertising content, ashtrays at each table , cleaning the space every two hours.
In addition to all these measures, these terraces must remain open until 23:00, open during holidays and public holidays and respect its customers.
