Cholera: 74 confirmed cases, Blida last outbreak of the epidemic (ministry)


Algeria – A new report released Friday by the Ministry of Health reports 74 cases of cholera confirmed nationwide until Thursday, August 30.

These cases of cholera have been recorded since August 7 through 6 wilayas of the country, namely Blida (39 cases), Bouira (3 cases), Tipaza (15 cases), Algiers 15 cases), Medea (1 case) and Ain Defla (1 case).

According to figures released by the department of Mokhtar Hasbellaoui, 132 patients who were affected left hospitals after a complete cure. Thus, according to the Ministry of Health, cholera is limited to the wilaya of Blida, where patients are still hospitalized at Boufarik hospital.

"All those who were hospitalized at El-Kettar Hospital (Algiers) left the facility after their recovery," the statement said.
