Algeria and the European Union (EU) are "natural partners" in the field of security and counter-terrorism, the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Policy said in Algiers on Monday Security and Vice President of the European Commission, Federica Mogherini
"Algeria and the European Union are natural partners in the High Level Dialogue on Regional Security and the Fight against Terrorism," Mogherini told reporters on her arrival in Algiers the second session of this dialogue, which she will co-chair with Foreign Minister Abdelkader Messahel.
Recalling that this is her third visit to Algeria during her term, the EU High Representative added that she will discuss with Mr Messahel "a lot of common priority ", citing Libya, the Sahel and bilateral cooperation in the economic, scientific and energy fields.
"I expect a meeting of exchanges of analyzes, but also to decide common actions in these sectors," she continued, noting that the conference on Libya, scheduled Monday and Tuesday in Palermo in Italy, is "an opportunity to coordinate activities and actions between the two parties."
During her visit to Algeria, the head of the EU will co-chair with Messahel the work of the Dialogue, launched in October 2017 in Brussels.
