In response to a question about the existence of unrecognized chouhada, while their names appear on commemorative steles in the wilaya of Tizi Ouzou, the Minister indicated that his services were ready to examine in concert with the ONM, any "outstanding" case, recalling that "the record of recognition of Mujahid and Shahid status had been definitively closed.
"It is inconceivable that 50 years after independence, the file of recognition remains open", he added recalling that the Algerian State had made the necessary, since independence, to register the mujahideen and chouhada by setting up commissions throughout the national territory and abroad, as well as a commission of appeal.
The Minister indicated that this file was closed in 2002, following the recommendations of the 9th conference of the ONM, the only body authorized to decide on the cases, and under which all the recognition commissions had been dissolved .
In a response to another question concerning the production of audiovisual works on popular resistance during the colonial period, the Minister of the Mojahedin stated that such works were subject to legal requirements, beginning with the presentation, in the jury, from the scenario, to the facilitation of access to material and financial resources.
After recalling the realization of several cinematographic works on the achievements of the leaders of the Revolution, like Mustapha Ben Boulaid, Colonel Lotfi and Krim Belkacem, the Minister said that it will proceed to the setting up new mechanisms and supporting the audiovisual field by means capable of facilitating the production of works on the history of Algeria.
