Algeria – No less than 72 scientific research laboratories were shut down, at the national level, following negative activity reports.
This was revealed, the director general of scientific research and technological development at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Abdelhafidh Aouragh, quoted Friday, November 9, by the Official Agency
The reason for these decisions to close and discontinue funding is the presentation by these laboratories of "negative balance sheets of activities during the last three years", said the APS, the same manager.
In this regard, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Tahar Hadjar explained yesterday that research laboratories "are subject to permanent and periodic monitoring and closure of some has occurred for lack of profitability . "
The Ministry recalls that 24 laboratories were closed three years ago.
