Algeria – The Minister of the Environment and Renewable Energies, Fatima Zohra Zerouati seems determined to take up the ecological challenge. This Thursday morning she went out on the ground to follow closely the largest cleaning campaign launched at the national level, the first of its kind, in a particular context marked by the proliferation of Cholera in Algeria.
In this regard, Mr. Zerouati said today in Gué de Constantine that this campaign is part of the awareness of citizens for the respect of the environment. "This is a strong message we want to send to Algerians to raise awareness of the need to preserve the environment and to involve it in clean-up actions to improve their environment."
This campaign concerns all wilayas in the country, she said. Before mentioning an environmental project in Algiers center. In this context, it indicates that the local authorities have initiated a reflection on a strategy, or even a study for the census of all black spots to eliminate waste permanently and this, to improve the living environment of Algerians
The minister also insisted for the umpteenth time on investing in waste management, knowing that Algeria has the capacity to sort 13 million tons of waste per year.
