Algeria – "Sporadic" cases of measles are reported in some wilayas, warned Wednesday a statement from the Ministry of Health, Population and Hospital Reform.

As a result, the Ministry recalls that measles, "although it is a mild disease, remains at very high risk with serious complications that can lead to death when it affects infants who are not yet eligible for vaccination. unvaccinated and immunocompromised children ". "Vaccination is the best protection against measles, which is considered the most contagious of childhood diseases," he advises.
Finally, "the Ministry of Health insists on the need to vaccinate children against measles according to the national immunization schedule."
As a reminder, three deaths caused by measles were recorded in Batna and El Bayedh, according to Ennahar.
