Algeria – The Secretary General of the Ministry of Public Works and Transport said Thursday in Medea that no additional delay will be granted to the "failing" companies called to carry out the last sections of the highway project Chiffa-Berraouaghia, planned to be delivered in full in March.
Any new project assignment to the companies involved in this project is "dependent on the commitment and willingness of the latter to respect the delivery schedule of sections and structures still in production," assured Ali Hammi , during an inspection visit of the sections under construction of the project.
He recalled, in this context, the commitment made by the various stakeholders on this project to proceed with the gradual delivery of two tunnels that are the junction between the wilaya of Blida and that of Medea, scheduled before the end of the year, as well as the reception, between the end of November and next March, of the eight structures being built.
Putting forward the aspect of "complementary and solidarity" to prevail in the relationship between the various components of the group of companies in charge of this project, the same official said that the Chinese company (CSCE) should "ensure to enforce "the commitments made by all stakeholders.
The delivery commitments, agreed upon with the companies in question, provide for the receipt and operation in November of the El-Hamdania interchange, which connects, in both directions, the north of the commune and the tunnel El-Hamdania-Chiffa, while the section of highway which makes the junction between El-Guezagza, with the southern exit of Medea, and the entrance of the commune of Ouzera, will be delivered late December, it was reported.
It is also planned to receive the third and last section of the highway, located between the El-Hamdania interchange and the locality Haouch-Messaoudi, for a distance of 7km, before next March.
