The US administration of Donald Trump announced Friday the cancellation of $ 200 million in aid to Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
"At the request of the president, we will redirect more than $ 200 million originally planned for programs in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip. These funds will now go to high priority programs elsewhere, "a senior State Department official told the press.
Relations between Washington and the Palestinian Authority have been frozen since Donald Trump announced in late 2017 his unilateral recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
Palestinians have refused any contact with the US administration and denied him any role as mediator in the peace process with the Israeli occupier.
