Imports: Government Will Not Give Up Restriction

Algeria – The import restriction regime will remain in force, despite the introduction of an additional provisional safeguard duty (DAPS) contained in the Supplementary Budget Act of 2018.

It was during an Interdepartmental Council devoted to the development and implementation of the DAPS, held last October 10th, that this maintenance was decided, learns ALG24 from a well-informed source. "The Order Designating the Goods Subject to the Import Restriction Regime Will Remain in Force", it is stated

If it remains in force, however, this restriction will only affect three to four products, including cements, agricultural tractors and vehicles, while aluminum products will be subject to further consolidation to ensure they will be placed under the prohibition regime or in the DAPS list.
