PARIS – The Foreign Relations Officer of the Saharawi Youth Union, Hamdi Omar, spoke at a series of meetings and meetings held on the sidelines of his participation in Paris, at the International Solidarity Festival, the gravity of the situation in which Sahrawi students live in Moroccan universities, contrary to all the international conventions and charters.
In a meeting with the president of the French University Center for Western Sahara, Sébastien Boulay, the Saharawi leader recalled the racist policy practiced by the Moroccan occupier against Sahrawi students enrolled in Moroccan universities.
He cited, in this context, the various difficulties encountered by students, including incarceration campaigns and bodily violence they suffer because of their activities in universities to publicize the struggle of the Saharawi people for his independence and freedom.
As such, Saharawi sources of information reported that the Foreign Relations Officer had informed his host of the latest developments in the Saharawi cause both internationally and regionally.
Hamdi Omar also mentioned the efforts made by the Saharawi government and its partners to raise the level of access of Saharawi students to higher education in the various sectors and universities, as well as investment in youth by integrating them into various Sahrawi enterprises.
He also put forward "the role of the Saharawi Youth Union" in encouraging young people and spreading the culture of volunteering, as well as support programs aimed at alleviating the despair suffered by Saharawi youth because of the failure of the UN Security Council to put pressure on Morocco to engage in a process of UN decolonization to reach a final solution of the Saharawi cause.

The Saharawi cause also marked its presence during the work of the 2nd edition of the Saharawi Winter University, in a suburb of Les Mureaux, where the resistance of the Saharawi people and its legitimate and unique representative for the purpose of 'going forward in its struggle for self-determination has been put forward.
Animating a conference on this occasion, the representative of the Polisario Front in France, Oubbi Bouchraya Bachir affirmed that the disposition displayed by the Saharawi people, throughout the stages of its struggle for freedom and independence, as well as his legendary determination, have played a large role in the evolution of his national cause, especially at the level of the United Nations (UN), testify, he said, "the latest discussions in Geneva and the steps taken by the UN organization in favor of a definitive and peaceful solution, able to assure the Saharawi people their irrevocable right to self-determination ".
Regarding the illegal exploitation of Saharawi natural resources by the Moroccan occupier, the president of the Saharawi oil and mining center, Zoubir Ghali, has noted staggering figures on the systematic looting of Saharawi wealth by the Morocco and its accomplices
He also reported on the large volume of income from Saharawi natural resources exploited by the Moroccan colonial system illegally, with the complicity of some countries and large multinationals, especially European ones, and this in "the blatant violation of international law and of the last judgments of the CJEU ".
Specifically, Mr. Ghali reported $ 143 million in dilapidated phosphate revenues in 2017, $ 368 million in marine and $ 360 million in steel. He also cited large quantities of uranium, gold, iron, marble, salt, sand, renewable energies and agricultural products.
"The figures and statistics relating to natural resource revenues illegally exploited by the Moroccan occupier, no doubt confirm, that its allegations of developing Western Sahara are unfounded, as long as these recipes are geared towards strengthening the Moroccan army allowing a better domination of the occupied territories and the repression of the Sahrawi civilians deprived, "he said.
