CAIRO – The Arab League the Commission of the African Union and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) decided on Wednesday to adopt a common mechanism support for the Palestinian cause.
A tripartite memorandum of understanding clarifies the mechanism to be adopted to meet the demands of Palestinian cause in a participatory framework, said Said Abu Ali, the secretary Deputy General for the Palestine and the occupied territories in the Arab League in a statement issued after a first meeting organized between the three organizations to that effect.
This agreement is a great achievement for the Palestinian cause, Abu Ali said, adding that this cooperation mechanism is essentially aimed at defending this cause in international forums.
This mechanism is part of a legal framework based on the charters establishing the three organizations, which put the Palestinian cause and its demands at the center of their actions, he added.
The meeting discussed the economic, political and cultural needs of Palestinians, he said, noting that this tripartite cooperation will be implemented through operational activities and programs.
