CAIRO – Egyptian security forces killed on Saturday "40 terrorists" in several raids in the wake of a bloody bomb attack on a Vietnamese tourist bus near Cairo, said the Interior Ministry in a statement.
The raids were carried out against terrorists in Giza, the site of Friday's attack, and in Sinai (east), according to the ministry, which states that 30 of them were killed in Giza.
"They planned a series of attacks against the tourism sector, Christian places of worship and security forces". said the same source.
Three Vietnamese tourists and their Egyptian guide were killed in the bombing of their bus near the site of the Giza pyramids, according to a new record of the Egyptian public prosecutor's office. Twelve others were injured in the attack.
Accompanied by Egyptian Ministers of Health and Tourism, Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli spoke in front of the cameras about an "unfortunate incident" during a trip to Al-Haram hospital where the wounded were admitted.
