RAMALLAH – Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas lit a torch on Monday on the occasion of the 54th anniversary of the launching of the Palestinian liberation movement and the creation of the Fatah party in Ramallah, West Bank.
He reaffirmed that El-Quds was the eternal capital of the Palestinian state and was not for sale.
He said neither Palestinian leaders nor the people would ever accept anyone selling El-Quds, and would not allow US President Donald Trump to sell the city to Israel. "It will never happen," said President Abbas.
"We will not allow anyone to plot against El-Quds El-Quds will remain the eternal capital of the Palestinian state, as the late President Yasser Arafat once said, a Palestinian child will one day raise the flag of Palestine on the walls, minarets and churches of El-Quds ", he added.
The Palestinian people will continue their struggle until they have succeeded in founding an independent state of Palestine, Abbas said.
"Next year will be even better than this year, and we will continue to make hope alive and pass it on from generation to generation.
It means that after 54 years and three generations, the revolution continues, and it will continue thanks to your determination, your will, your inspiration – and thanks to the will of God, to whom nothing is impossible " , he said.
