Poland / COP24: the closure postponed to Saturday (presidency of the Conference)

KATOWICE- The closing session of the 24th United Nations International Conference on Climate, initially scheduled for Friday, has been postponed to Saturday, to try to reach a final agreement, announced the president of COP 24, Michal Kurtyka.

The purpose of the postponement is to allow participants to overcome the differences, said Kurtyka, who did not rule out the negotiations until Sunday.

Negotiators would not be able to conclude discussions on the content of the COP24 outcome document, because of differences that require discussion and additional delay, he said.

A Polish source had the day before said that in the absence of a final agreement, the work of the 24th conference will continue during the weekend.
