CHAHID EL-HAFED – The Polisario Front has emphasized its determination to use all avenues available, including European justice to defend the rights of the Saharawi people and their sovereignty over their wealth, calling in this regard the governments of the Union European Union (EU) to put an immediate end to this process, which unfortunately involves the European peoples in the blatant plundering of the resources of a destitute and oppressed people who have seen their lands occupied by military force.
The National Secretariat of the Polisario Front welcomed, in a communiqué sanctioning the proceedings of its 9th ordinary session, chaired by Ibrahim Ghali, President of the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR), the consecutive rulings of the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) annulling any agreement of this kind, encompassing the territories, the territory or territorial waters of Western Sahara without the consent of the Saharawi people, through its sole and legitimate representative, the Polisario Front, affirming, in this respect, that the positions adopted by France and Spain on this subject were "a clear violation of European law, international law and international humanitarian law".
The EU position hampers the efforts made by the UN envoy for Western Sahara, Horst Kohler has allowed to breathe a new dynamic in the process of conflict resolution, said the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front.
Referring to the position of Spain, the Polisario Front welcomed the conclusions of the European Conference of Support and Solidarity with the Saharawi People (EUCOCO) held this year in Madrid, conclusions that "consolidated the effectiveness of the international solidarity movement with the Saharawi people and their just struggle"
The National Secretariat of the Polisario Front praised the solidarity of the people of the Spanish state, recalling the legal, historical and moral responsibility of the latter with regard to the Saharawi people, as the legal guiding force of Western Sahara. Spain must play its full role in completing the process of decolonization of Western Sahara by enabling its people to exercise their inalienable right to self-determination and independence.
The Polisario Front also welcomed the Saharawi Liberation Army in its "missions to protect the liberated territories against all threats or dangers that target the security and peace of the nation and the citizen, especially in the light of a systematic Magrebine policy, based on the spread, aggression and drug trafficking, as well as the support and encouragement of organized crime gangs and terrorist groups that threaten peace and stability throughout the region . "
The Polisario renewed its call for the release of the Saharawi political prisoners of the Gdeim Izik group, the student prisoners and all the political prisoners held in the Moroccan prisons ", and to reveal the fate of the disappeared Sahrawi victims of the Moroccan military invasion of Western Sahara since October 31, 1975. Regarding anti-personnel mines that have claimed thousands of children among the Saharawi people, the Polisario demanded the destruction of the wall built by Morocco.
CSI's efforts in favor of a solution to the status quo praised
The Polisario Front also praised the efforts deployed at the level of the International Security Council (ISC), which made it possible to resolve the statuquo prevailing in the process of settling the Saharawi question, while insisting on the implementation of Urgent Work of the United Nations Mission for the Referendum in Western Sahara (Minurso).
The communiqué of the 9th session of the National Secretariat of the Polisario Front once again denounced the serious violations of human rights committed by the Moroccan occupier, calling on the UN to assume its responsibility and to intervene quickly, giving MINURSO a mechanism for the protection of human rights.
Addressing the first international conference of liberation movements in Africa hosted by the Polisario Front and the commemoration of Nelson Mandela's centenary, the Polisario SN praised the African Union (AU) position of principle, in its capacity as first concerned by a purely African case and partner of the UN, claiming the completion of decolonization on the African continent.
An approach embodied by the decision of the Nouakchott summit to form a troika to monitor and contribute to the settlement process. In this context, the SN welcomed the appeal launched by the AU to the two member states of the Pan-African organization, in this case the Saharawi Republic and the Kingdom of Morocco, for direct negotiations in good faith and without preconditions. .
The communiqué of the Polisario Front recalled, moreover, that the accession of Morocco to the AU requires a clear and complete commitment on the part of the kingdom vis-à-vis the provisions of the constitutive act of this organization . The AU must ensure the strict application of its decisions, including respect for the borders inherited independence and peaceful settlement of conflicts between its member states.
