COTONOU (Benin) – The presence of Algeria in the Executive Committee of the African Parliament of Civil Society (Pasoci) will further strengthen the status of the institution at the regional and international levels, said members of this structure, after the recent appointment of Ali Sahel, President of the National Association of Youth Exchanges (ANEJ), as Vice-President of the Pasoci Executive Committee, in charge of international relations.
At the 45th Ordinary Meeting of the Executive Committee of the Pasoci, held from 15 to 18 December in the capital of Benin, Cotonou, the Algerian Ali Sahel, was officially appointed Vice President for International Relations, by the members of the executive board, who welcomed the decision, saying "convinced that with the presence of Algeria, the committee will be further strengthened in its status at the regional and international level", we learned Thursday from of the head of the ANEJ
The meeting, chaired by Pasoci President Jean Claude Kessé, was an opportunity to discuss the various items on the agenda, including the results and conclusions of the work of the 2nd International Conference of African Member Organizations. the United Nations Eucosoc, successfully held in Algiers last November and the 2019/2020 work program, renewing the support and encouragement of migration policy adopted by Algeria.
The 2nd edition of the Conference of African NGOs members of Ecosoc was held, it is recalled, under the theme: "Engage Africa in the face of the migration crisis: Partnership Civil Society – Public – Private for entrepreneurship and youth employability, innovation and inclusive and sustainable industrialization ".
At this meeting not less than 30 participating African countries had agreed to "act together, to take charge and to invest themselves totally in strengthening the bonds of friendship and solidarity between all the actors of the society civil society. "
In addition, the Cotonou meeting also made it possible to prepare the visit of the Pasoci delegation to Brussels and the German Parliament at the invitation of the European Union (EU) next February, as well as a forthcoming conference of donors Africa, in collaboration with other agencies, institutions and foundations, announced Mr. Sahel.
The members of the bureau also accepted the membership of the Saharawi Social Forum and the Saharawi Women's Union as members of the Pasoci
